BRENDAN GLEESON FILMS IN OFFALY
Award-winning actor Brendan Gleeson was in Offaly during the recent cold snap to star in the short comedy ‘Noreen’. Filmed on location in and around Shannonbridge, the cast and crew didn’t let the adverse weather conditions get the better of them.
The film is directed by Brendan’s son Domhnall who is the recipient of the 2009 Film Offaly bursary. Domhnall and his team fought off fierce competition to scoop the €8,000 prize money. The film will premiere exclusively later this Spring in the Tullamore Omniplex. Further details from www.elzorrerofilms.ie

2009 FILM BURSARY
Noreen screened
The winner of the 2009 FilmOffaly / Filmbase award, Noreen, a short film written and directed by Domhnall Gleeson and produced by El Zorrero Films, starring Brendan Gleeson, Brian Gleeson and Gerard Byrne, was premiered on June 11th at the Tullamore Omniplex Cinema. The film has already being officially selected for the Palm Springs International Film Festival and the Galway Film Fleadh, so we at FilmOffaly wish cast and crew every success and are glad to have played a role in making it a reality.
