Out of 113 entries 'Hunter Gatherer' by Nick Wilkinson was chosen as the winner of the FilmOffaly/Filmbase Award 2013.

 

This short film will be directed by Diarmuid Goggins and follows the story of a young mother and her son who are trapped in a downward spiral of unemployment and suburban decay.

 

Both find escape in a Henry Wadsworth poem 'The Song of Hiawatha' which evokes the desire to hunt in the wilderness of forest, mountains and rivers.

The film is due to be shot on location in Offaly this autumn.
