STANDMANTRA PRODUCTION

CASTING CALL JANUARY 2014

Offaly Production Company StandMantra Productions are currently casting for a film titled 'Skunky Dog'; a short contemporary drama set in a small fishing village on the South-east coast of Ireland. They will film for 4 days between Monday 3rd and Sunday 9th of March (exact dates TBC) and intend on marketing this film to National and International Film Festivals and TV Networks worldwide upon its release.

Logline:

In a rural fishing town, a young alcoholic boy (Flick) is confronted by the truth that he might never break his routine or leave the town.

Cast Needed:

Flick - 19 - male - Flick is a small scrawny lad. His face is red and covered in freckles that are so close together they almost resemble dirt. He has bad teeth and his posture is that of a much older frail man. Although he has no prospects going for him he does dream of something bigger and better.

Mick - 45/50 - male - Mick is a friendly man with greasy hair and a warming smile. He earns an honest living as the local mechanic. He also minds his own business and wishes others could do likewise.

Shooter - 39 - male - Shooter is a huge man with the body shape of a bowling pin. He leads a dead-end life and lacks the ambition to do otherwise. He has a master's degree in drinking pints and sneering. The only sport he's ever played is darts and pool. The only thing that makes him happy is 'Happy Hour' down at the local.

Morgan - 50 - male - Morgan is a kind hearted publican who likes to be everyone's friend. He's passionate about pulling pints but will sit on the fence of every conversation.

Joe Doyle (Flick's Father) - 60 - male - Joe is a man plagued by violence and alcohol dependency. He is a small man with a hard face, stubble and thinning hair. He stopped caring long ago.
