FilmOffaly is delighted to be collaborating with OFFline FIlm Festival and Offaly Local Enterprise Office to bring our FilmOffaly Industry Day. This year we focus on the 'pitch'.

A good or bad pitch is the crux of making your script into a film. It is the means to provide financing and backing. You may have the greatest script in the world but if you cannot do it justice by giving a 60 second amazing pitch then it may never come to fruition.

FilmOffaly has enlisted the expertise of Mary Kate O’Flanagan, renowed script doctor and mentor to provide advice on how to deliver the best pitch. On our FilmOffaly Industry Day at OFFline we have two events:

Open to all - Event is Free.

The essentials of how and when to pitch, including the elevator pitch, loglines and the etiquette of pitching. This is open to all. There will be a maximum allowed audience

Pitching Feedback

Open primarily to Film Makers from or living in Offaly

Have you a pitch ready? Do you want to try it out and get some feedback? Mary Kate O’Flanagan together with a leading panel will listen to your pitch, question you, evaluate it and give you some crucial feedback.

Panel includes:

Brendan McCarthy (owner Fantastic Films Dublin)

Eva Juel Hammerich (Leading producer Denmark)

Patrick O’Neill (Founder & MD of Wildcard Distribution)

Those booking need to come ready to pitch. The pitch will take the form of the filmmaker giving a broad idea of the project in 60 seconds. Then there will be a few minutes to answer questions and finally you will receive feedback. Times will be allocated and those booking will need good internet away from any distractions. Although a mock pitch this will be treated as a real pitching session to give filmmakers an authentic experience. Each session is approximately 10 minutes but it will probably be the most valuable 10 minutes feedback you will get.

Limited spaces: Offaly based filmmakers, producers & scriptwriters given preference. (Would encourage even the most experienced to take up this opportunity).
