Caper to premiere in Tullamore

The winner of the 2015 FilmOffaly/Filmbase award, Caper a crime short produced by Eoin Naughton of Five Knight Films will be premiered in IMC Cinema Tullamore on 10th June at 8:30pm.

 

Caper is a self referential short with the tagline “two thugs embark on a convoluted plan to tie up loose ends following the robbery of a local crime lord. Things go awry when a crucial element is forgotten.” The script written by David Svedberg was chosen over 129 entries, and was directed by Brian O’Neill and produced by Five Knight Films. 

 

Brian Fortune, who plays a lead role, is best known for starring in global phenomenon Game of Thrones. He has also appeared in Vikings and numerous Irish television and film projects. The cast also includes Irish actors Peter O'Byrne (Damo & Ivor) and Johnny Elliott.

 

This gritty urban crime caper was shot on location in Tullamore where it will receive its premier at Tullamore Cinema on Wednesday 10th June at 8:30pm. Admission is free but booking is essential, please call FilmOffaly on 057 9357400 to reserve a place.

 

The FilmOffaly/Filmbase award is a funding initiative now in its 7th year with the aim  to foster creative, resourceful filmmaking in the county. Previous winning films have been screened internationally, most recently 2014’s joint winner Strangers in the Night by Fantastic Films was screened as part of the Seattle Film Festival.

The establishment of FilmOffaly in 2008 has seen the county become both viable and an appealing location for national and international TV and film crews to.
