OFFline Film Festival 2013

An amazing 5 days of filmmaking, screenings and even a drive-in cinema in Birr has come to an end.

The festival included several feature films, such as Black Ice, Wreck-It Ralph and Kings of Summer, as well as 15 short films. The winner of the short film competition was the Chinese short Butterlamp and the audience award went to The Great Kiss Heist.

Birr Rugby club played host to a Drive-In Cinema where cars pulled up to watch classic films such as Grease, The Shining and The Big Lebowski. The unique cinema experience went down a treat with audiences.

Throughout the week nine film crews from Ireland, the UK and the Netherlands had been working hard taking part in the 72 hour filmmaking competition. The climax of the festival came at the award ceremony at Birr Theatre & Arts Centre on Sunday afternoon with Frankie Shine's Reunion being named winner, receiving €1500 cash and €750 worth of film hire equipement.

Congratulations to Frankie Shine and his all female crew and we look forward to an even bigger and better OFFline 2014!
